It is non-slip and environmentally friendly. Its beautiful looks and practical features allow for a wide range of placement options.

If you know the basics, putting fake grass between pavers is easy. Follow the steps in this article to create a beautiful paver lawn in no time.

How to Install Artificial Grass between Pavers

Installing fake grass between pavers can be more complicated than you think. Although it takes more effort and measuring to mix fake grass with pavers, the final result is worth it.

You can install artificial grass between pavers in one of two ways. You can also cut around pavers or use the strips approach. Each of these options has its advantages and disadvantages.

Step 1 – Prepare the Ground for Drainage

First, check how water drains between pavers. Good drainage is crucial for any artificial grass installation. Check the ground between the pavers. You can lay a subbase if you only have dirt or ground. You will need to compact the pavers using a hand tamp manually.

Step 2 – Install Sub-Base

Whether your pavers have been set in concrete or soil, a sub-base layer will still be required for drainage and performance. It is difficult to compress the sub-base layer between pavers. A plate compactor won’t fit between them, and a manual tap will not give enough compaction.

We recommend that you manually compact it with a brick. Fit the brick between your pavers and compact the subbase beneath by hitting it with a heavy-duty hammer.

Step 3 – Roll Out and Lay the Artificial Grass

After preparing the ground, spread the fake grass over the pavers. After the ground has been prepared, allow the fake grass to dry and the grass backing to form around the pavers. You can also walk between them to aid the grass backing to conform to the pavers’ contours. This will make it easier to install the pavers in the future.

Step 4 – Nail the Grass Down

After the grass has been laid out and rested, it is time to attach it to the ground. This can be done by nailing the grass 1 inch apart and centered between the pavers.

This will prevent the grass from moving while you are cutting it. These nails are temporary and will need to be removed later. Avoid hammering the nails all the way. If you are working with concrete or other hardy materials, skip this step. You can use your weight and not shift the turf to keep the grass in the place.

Step 5 – Cut around the Pavers

This is the most important phase for the final appearance. If you trim the pavers correctly, your yard will look stunning. If you trim it wrongly, you could end up with unsightly and uneven gaps between your bricks.

Start by making a small incision along the paver’s edge. To cut around pavers, keep the blade’s tip against the paver’s edge and trim the grass around its perimeter. Cut the grass into small pieces. Keep the grass fibers intact by keeping them coiled. Then drag the grass backward with your empty hand. Finally, cut the grass using an “up-and-back” motion.
