When the kids walked in to Make Meaning with my mom and I, they were instantly intrigued by the colors, the low counters full of objects to paint and create, and the seats that were just their size. It took no time at all for them to dive right into their projects. They knew they were being entrusted to make something very special, and the feeling of independence was the driving force in their ease and imagination. Jack painted a ceramic horse and carefully chose the wax for a candle, while Zoe hand picked and strung every bead on a necklace for me.

The feeling of pride in their finished products was like none I have seen before. The time that we shared together and the intense creativity poured into each project was truly amazing. The staff was incredible-both helpful and warm- and made us feel like we were at home. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Make Meaning… I’ll cherish each piece we made and the time spent with each other forever. I even wear my necklace almost daily-shocking people when I tell them it was created by my two year old.
